My family contracted to insert an above ground pool into our backyard. We asked for it to be placed 2.5 feet into the ground. Initially we were quoted around $1400 for the entire deal, excluding carry away (we know this was an extremely good deal despite the fact that ATEX didn't bother to tell us until the day they began digging that the take away was extra, we also knew that if we struck rock, which was highly plausible, the price would rise) Thus began our horrible ordeal. Each trip to the dump with dirt/rock they quoted $175. This wouldn't be that bad because we figured, due to our volume calculations of the truck, and our hole, that at most they would need to make 3 trips. But then ATEX started to claim that they would need 5 trips, and we were absolutely appalled, we couldn't fathom why exactly. Then we started to really sweat, ATEX struck rock. So ontop of making so many trips, we were having to pay for the rock that they encountered! We were truly aggravated when we realized (after observing more closely) that the man taking the truck to the dump was only filling it up 1/4 of the way! Now he's saying he'll make a total of 7 trips and we have to pay or we risk being sued!
