Don't hire them. scammers with a way to keep their ratings up (not for long though).
my last move with a company called "Alpine van lines" was horrible, so, I thought I took my time with this one. after they called me, Mike assured me that i am in "good hands" and after reading the reviews online and checking BBB & DIT rating.
YESTERDAY THE 22nd AFTER THE DEPOSIT HAD BEEN PAID
Today, the mover showed up and we were going through the "items to be picked up" as per the binding estimate....half way through, he demands 700 dollars more because he needed a larger truck and not the "express truck" (I don't even know what that means) and because I am on the 2nd floor - which is on the contract -. I told him I have less stuff than on the contract 7 boxes short of the binding estimate. I was assured that I could reach them anytime...guess what, I've been calling and leaving messages for the last 6 hours and nothing. I looked at google maps and looks like their "physical address" is an apartment in Brooklyn. The truck they showed up with was not an "Active moving" truck like they promised and "Alex" doesn't seem to even work for the company.
My 2nd move in the last 3 years and I am so tired of these scammers and con artists. you coan reach me if you have any questions.
TODAY the 23rd
I call the company and no answer, the manager "NATALIA" sends me three emails with the same words! No phone calls, then, she re-directs me to Dispatch (464)221-7690 and guess what. no one picks up (big surprise) and the voice mail box is full.
The con company called active moving claims the following:
1. the truck cannot get to where I am (I live in a luxury apartment complex with over 300 apartments and moving trucks of all sizes park right outside the door) and therefore, they had to use "express shuttle". LIE
2. I wasn't packed!!!! Everything was packed, but ALEX didn't even see most of it - because he was too fast demanding more money. LIE
3. the extra steps are 75 per 7 steps - in the contract, it is per FLIGHT of stairs not 7 steps...SCAM
MIKE - who promised that he is different and the company was different called, apologized but "nothing he could do"!!!So, I am screwed.
I filed with the DOT - you can see the complaint within a week
I filed with the BBB - you can see the complaint within a week as well.
I will dispute the charges as FRAUD.
This company is not only a thief and a cheat, they are PROFESSIONAL CHEATS AND THIEFS. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND FURNITURE AND DO IT YOURSELF or hire someone you can trust.

Attention everyone! This company actually did great with my move. The price was the price of course if no changes were made but no changes were made for me so it stayed what it was. The movers got to my home when they said they would. My things were in the same condition as well no damage at all! I say great job!
Great company:
I think the best thing about my move is that I can talk greatly about it. This would be the first move that I can actually talk good about. It all started on June 30th when the movers arrived at my home. They had their smiles on and ready to work. As soon as they started loading I knew they were professionals. They took their time to make sure everything fit with room space. They also wrapped my huge hutch so great that even after hundreds of miles they arrived in perfect condition. These movers were outstanding; they were fun and funny and worked really hard to make sure that I was overall happy. I have never dealt with a company that made me feel like a customer should, satisfied!
Pretty impressed!:
I was pretty impressed with the job that everyone at Active Moving did! Not only did they give me a great price that I could not pass up but their customer service was amazing. They answered any and all questions and were very straight forward. I did not have a lot of things but I made sure that they wrapped everything up really well and they did with no problem. At delivery they took their time to make sure everything was right and to make sure there were no damages. It was one of the best moves I have been apart of.
