The African American Museum of the Arts was established in 1994, and is a platform for several exhibitions of artifacts and memorabilia, as well as performing arts in the community. It showcases the art, history and culture of the African-American people via an array of media. This building is featured on the National Register of Historic Places.

About Us Founded in 1994 and located in historic DeLand, the seat of Volusia County Government, AAMA is a unique and vital resource in this part of Florida. It is the only museum in the area devoted primarily to African American cultures and art.
