Doesn't Care Enough About Customers:
I called American Sewing Machine on Saturday (9/25/2010) to inquire about turnaround time for a machine repair. The man I spoke with said it's 24 hours so I drove there to drop off my Pfaff sewing machine for cleaning and possible repair.
While the young man who helped me was polite, he told me that it wouldn't be ready until the following Wednesday. This should've made me question what he said on the phone, but against my better judgement I left the machine at the store. I also took some of their business cards to pass out to my friends on post.
I went to the store around 12:15pm on Wednesday afternoon because I was on that side of town and when I gave the man my claim ticket, he said it wasn't ready. That I needed to come back later. "When is later?" I asked him and he and another man started telling me sometime in the afternoon.
To make a very long, RUDE story short, these men tried to blame me for coming "too early" to pick up my machine. Even though I wasn't told a time to come, just "Wednesday". Then they proceeded to tell me that I should call them next time, what if an emergency arose and they had to fix another machine and couldn't get around to mine (a sewing machine "emergency"), how it wasn't the end of the business day and why I'm thinking it's okay to come at noon. So many things that blew my mind, it's too much to make mention of here/
Needless to say, if you've ever left your machine at this store and called only to be told it wouldn't be ready at the said time, it's because they have a line up of sewing machines on the floor that they are taking their sweet time fixing. With no care or concern for their word or their customers time, I can clearly see this place closing due to lack of business VERY soon. They don't care enough about their job or their business to take care of their customers and their business practices are deceptive to say the least.
