Don't go here!!!!:
After agonizing for days we took our beloved Labradour Retriver, Bradley, to be euthanized. Bradley had cancer and we didn't want him to suffer any more, so we made the decision to have him peacefully put to sleep. Unfortunately there was nothing peaceful about it. When we arrived Nicole, the Vet. Tech., took him to place an IV in his leg and we were sent to a room. Dr. Meadow and Nicole (tech) arrived with Bradley with the IV on his leg. As any dog owner knows this is a heartbreaking thing to go through especially when it turns into a nightmare.
Bradley is laying down as we hugged him saying goodby. Dr. Meadow inserts the first shot to make him sleepy. We notice she is having trouble pushing down the plunger on the syringe to the point she actually put the syringe plunger on the floor trying to push down the plunger. As she continues trying to push the plunger down the needle pops out of the IV and Bradley is slashing around in discomfort, she then attempts to reinsert the needle into the IV. At this point with Bradley not getting sleepy but agitated we asked is that IV in a vein. Well, it wasn't, Dr. Meadow was pushing the fluid into muscle causing his discomfort. This is why she had so much trouble with the plunger. By now we are crying watching his final moments become a nightmare. Dr. Meadow should have known there was an issue with the IV. Why would she try and force the syringe. Now they take him back to insert another IV, bring him back and start again. It was excruciating, like watching your dog die twice. What total incompetence, what a horrible experiance for us to endure, not to mention my beloved Bradley being denied his peaceful death. Needless to say I left there distraught and crying uncontrollably feeling I let my dog down in his final hours. Shame on the Animal Hospital of North Dover and Dr. Meadow for doing this to him, shame on Dr. Roma (Owner) too!
Please take your pet to any other Vet do not go here!!!!
