Animas Museum

The Animas Musuem, operated by the La Plata County Historical Society, chronicles Durango's past through documents, artifacts and rotating exhibits. Past displays have included archaeological exhibits, railway history collections, 19th-century photography installations and more.

A 1904 stone schoolhouse in north Durango is the home of the La Plata County Historical Society museum, so it's appropriate that a turn-of-the-20th-century classroom is one of its central displays.
