Set in a spare, old-fashioned Upper East Side storefront, this unassuming little newcomer with a window full of traditional birthday cakes and Continental pastries does a brisk business in croissants (which are merveilleux) and other goodies such as fruit tart; there are soups and sandwhiches on fresh baked bread too.
