The Extras: Building deep into a high hillside location made the design possible, and also allowed for deep cellars that maintain a constant cool temperature.

Know Before You Go: Archery Summit makes mostly Pinot Noir, and high-end Pinot Noir at that. The estate bottlings in particular, lovely wines that are produced so far in small quantities, come at a pretty steep price. On the lower end, the winery's one white--the Pinot Gris-based Vireton--is an exceptional blend worth trying.
