The purpose of ADSO is to sponsor, stimulate and promote art in its many phases and to further the intelligent appreciation of all forms of the arts within our community

The first meeting of artists in 1956 was in a private home with 17 in attendance. Today, ADSO has over 200 members. It occupies the Old City Hall Complex of the City of Fort Walton Beach.
