Poor Management and Customer Service:
After owning a cell phone I bought at this location for 7 months I tried to return it for an exchange. The only thing wrong with the phone was the screen was not available- just a blank white screen with no visuals. The phone rang when I got calls, I could hear a beep when I got a text- I could even make a phone call as long as I had memorized the number. The phone had never been dropped or dropped in water.
In speaking with Charles Newkirk and then Alex Alonzo I was accused of "dropping the phone in water" and there was nothing they could do to help. No exchanges, no return etc. And then I was told I would have to purchase a new phone. I told them I never dropped my phone in water but both Alex and Charles insisted I had. They said there was a little red square near where the battery was that indicated it had been dropped in water and therefore any warranty was invalid.
I had purchased the phone in September, and had the receipt to prove it and I know for a fact that the phone had never been dropped in water. In addition I have been an AT&T customer since 1999 and have only owned 3 phones (all purchased at the 600 Pine St location). Both Charles and Alex were both rude and unprofessional and didn't seem to care about keeping a loyal customer. They offered me no solutions (other than trying to sell me another phone), nor were they pro-active in trying to accommodate the situation so that we could all be satisfied. I left the store frustrated and angry. I called AT&T at 866-246-4852 and lodged a complaint against both Alex and Charles. And was further assisted by an AT&T operater/manager. DO NOT GO TO THIS STORE! DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS STORE! DO NOT TRY TO RETURN ANYTHING AT THIS STORE- They will scam you. I was able to get a warranty exchange over the phone. Other than the incident with the two incompetent, selfish, greedy and un-informed clerks at the 600 Pine AT&T Mobility store I am still a satisfied AT&T customer.
