Run away!:
THE BIGGEST RIP OFF EVER! I bought a used car from a Car lot in Old Hickory about 5 yrs ago from Auction Car Outlet. They changed their name on 6-1-15 to Auction Auto Outlet Llc I'm assuming due to all the bad reviews online & with the BBB reviews. I was not aware of these reviews until my nightmare with this company continued for 6 months and I went to leave my own review. When the motor went out in the car from 5 yrs before in June 2015, I went back to the now called Auction Auto Outlet Llc to get another car. I've done business with the owner in the auto parts industry as well for 15 yrs. When I called he assured me they had the perfect car for me and to come in. I went to the lot and there was a 2003 Volvo station wagon with 148k miles and from what I was told, was one of the best running/ lowest mileage cars they had.... However it needed a right front strut (they said). It was blocked in by the co/ owner Holly Garretts car. She assured me it was a great car and that she had even gotten a speeding ticket in it. I've known the Owner Henry for about 15 years & have bought a car there previously so I felt like I would be taken care of if there were any issues. Holly then proceeded to tell me that they don't do monthly notes anymore but that she could get me an auto loan through a lady she knew from Springleaf Financial. I was thrilled because I was broke, had just moved and the only thing I had for a down payment was the old car with a bad motor. When I called to say I needed a car Holly told me they had a trailer they could pick it up in and get scrap money out of it. I had assumed that would be my down payment but then she said they don't do monthly notes but could get me a loan and I could keep my bad car for scrap. So the next day Holly called and said that they had driven it to the loan company for me and my loan had been approved. She told me the car was fixed and all I needed to do was pick up the check from Spring leaf and pick up my car. As soon as I handed her the check she said "your turbo was fixed this afternoon" Turbo??? I was told front strut was broken. Once again, I've known the owner for a long time and he assured me if there were any issues he would fix it. We stayed until after 7 doing all the paperwork. As soon as I left with the car I knew there was a problem. It wouldn't accelerate unless I pushed the gas pedal all the way to the floor for about 5 seconds then it would pick up speed. As I made my 1st left turn the steering wheel was jerking... Another left...more jerking. As I got onto the interstate I heard a banging noise and heard something fall out and smack the bottom of the car and saw it land on the road. The car behind me almost wrecked to avoid it. I turned on my hazards and there was nothing. They didn't work. I called the car lot immediately. No answer. I called Henry's cell...no answer I texted... No reply. I drove the car home to Lavergne and then noticed the car was starting to run hot. The temp gage was about 3 lines above the 1/2 mark. I texted the owner several messages detailing all the issues... Suspension issues, Headlights didn't work, tail lights didn't work, running hot, not accelerating, right mirror was a piece of reflective cardboard. My boyfriend popped the hood to find the headlights are wired straight to the fuse box and the acceleration issue was a bad turbo. Still no response from Henry. I called the loan company the next morning to tell them I didn't want the car. Becky said they couldn't put a stop payment on the check but that I could go get it and bring it back to them. I was at the Car lot by 8:45 the next morning waiting for them to open. I told Holly there were too many issues and I needed my check back. She said the money was already deposited and transferred and that it was too late. She assured me they would fix it. When the owner Henry got there he told me he did not have his phone and was sorry and that he would put me in a loaner car and fix mine. Loaner # 1 broke down at the DMV within 2 weeks. They picked it up and gave me another one. Loaner #2 couldn't be driven on the interstate because the transmission was slipping and jerking. He had actually offered to trade me the one I bought for #2 and I said no. The transmission was bad. He then put me in #3 a Sedona mini van.... With another person's tags. It was a trade in. I believe that is illegal. Holly actually tried to get me to sign fake paperwork in case I got pulled over or they got audited. I said Hell No. We are going on the 2 month mark and he keeps telling me he has taken my car to several mechanics and that they can't figure it out and asks me do I want the Sedona. NO! It's a huge gas guzzler, jerks and vibrates, engine light is on and has dry rotted tires which went flat and left me stranded just to be replaced with more dry rotted tires. I wanted the car I bought and paid almost 5,000 cash for. They then proceed to tell me that they found out the engine was bad and that they had purchased a warranty for my car from C.A.R.S. Now it's month 2 and I'm told my car is ready but the mechanic is waiting to be paid by the warranty company. Another month goes by.... Still nothing. They said they were having issues with the warranty company. So I called the company to ask what the problem was and they told me that they could not cover the engine if it had already been changed because the mechanic hadn't followed instructions which were to tear the engine down and find the cause of the engine failure first. I was confused because when Holly sent me an email about the warranty company, she also emailed me a receipt with my name on it for $300 for engine tear down labor. I noticed it also said I had driven the car for 300 miles.. Not true. I had the car for less than 14 hours and went from old hickory to Lavergne, 15 miles to Nashville to work until the lot was open and back to old hickory to give it back.
I didn't pay anyone and had no idea where my car was. Holly told me that the statement of 300 miles is what the company required to do repairs. I called the warranty company and they told me that not only was my car not ready, but that they had JUST received the quote to repair it. I believe the mans name at the warranty company is Dan. He could tell I was upset that they had lied to me and he told me I could get my car and take it to any mechanic I wanted. I googled the address on the receipt Holly emailed me and found out my car was 100 miles away in Smithville/ McMinnville area and not running. Months went by with no response to my calls or texts. Month 4-1/2 I called the car lot again and Holly finally answered. I told them I need my money back or a car without issues for the money I paid. Holly screamed that they didn't have anything else and that if I hadn't called the warranty company and got in the middle of it that they would have paid. I'm positive she impersonated me with the warranty company. Then she said I signed an As Is agreement and that it was my fault. I had the car for less that 14 hours. I told her I was getting a lawyer and hung up. That was the last time she answered my call. The next day Henry showed up at my work with a Chrysler cirrus he told me would be better on gas and that the car was great and my car was almost ready. I left to take my lunch break and almost wrecked because the brake pedal went straight to the floor and would not stop. You had to pump them 1st and stay back from everyone. Sometimes they worked sometimes they didn't. It had a temp tag with my name on the back. I'm pretty sure that she forged some paperwork because my name and address were on the temp tag. I only found that out after removing it when it had expired and to keep as proof that he put my name on something I didn't own. I drove the car for 30 days and the temp tags expired. I called Henry days before but he didn't bring a tag. On day three of them being expired I am told that my car is almost ready but the check engine light is on and he needs to call me after work because he's busy. At this point it's November, I realize I'm going to miss Thanksgiving with my Grandaughter because my loaner car won't make it to Arkansas, the tags are expired and I just want my money back. My boyfriend went to the car lot and found that none of the wiring issues were fixed and there were 3 engine codes laying on the seat. This is the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. He got them to agree to put me in a legal, safe, reliable rental car and that they would take the car to Volvo of Nashville and have the car fixed to my satisfaction. Holly Notorized the agreement. Next day... No rental and we are told it will be Friday because they have to get a business account set up with Enterprise car rental. We called Volvo of Nashville to confirm the appointment & to see if they had a rental car. The service manager said the appointment was set but they were only told the "check engine" light was what the appointment was made for and they said they were only told an engine light was on.... Nothing about electrical wiring, lights, suspension and were not aware that the car lot had someone put a used motor in it. They refused the appointment because they can't warranty someone else's work and declined to fix someone else's work that were not Volvo certified techs. We picked up the rental Friday night and used it Saturday & Sunday. I had opened a case with the better business bureau. They made 2 attempts to resolve the issue but did not get a response either time. 2 days later on Sunday 11-29-15 I went to Beaman Toyota and got approved for a new car. We texted Holly to tell her that since our Notorized agreement couldn't be fulfilled and that they didn't have a good car to trade that we were going the safe legal route and had bought a car from the dealer and turned the rental car back in. She texted back that the car was at Eurofix being fixed. We told her do not do that because that was not the agreement and that we had been advised legally to take them to Court if need be. I found out through the loan company that Henry had registered my car and got tags in my name that same very day 11-29-15. I did not sign a power of attorney that I'm aware of unless it was hidden in the contract. I used to sell cars 10 years ago and the power of attorney was a separate document. They basically got themselves a loan in my name & did not use the money to fix the car. I found out from Beaman that I got a personal loan... Not an auto loan. It was my 1st loan. I was unaware that there was a difference. My boyfriend managed to get Henry on the phone and Henry said he could resell the car to pay off my loan within 30 days and that he would cover my next payment for $167 due on 12-9-15 and would call me to come sign a consignment paper. The loan company called on the 16th asking about my payment. I explained to the manager Nick that Henry agreed to pay my note so he said he would call them and find out what's going on. Henry never called me to come sign consignment papers. I didn't hear back from Nick at Springleaf so I assumed he got the payment.
12-30-15 I get a call from another employee at the loan company telling me the note is overdue. The manger Nick got on the phone and told me he would call himself again and try to talk Henry into doing the right thing. Henry told him I signed an as is warranty and that he is under no obligation to pay. He also told him that I'm the one who purchased the CARS warranty not them. That is a complete lie. I would love to see the receipt. He told them I'm the one who paid. I didn't even know about the warranty until I got an email with the receipt for $300 in my name to a mechanic. I drove to the car lot 1-3-16 I believe (Monday) to try and get the money he promised he would pay. He was refunded $90 by Enterprise because I only had the car for 2 days. My car was there with a broken turn signal, headlights still wired to the fuse box and same cardboard mirror. Not Fixed. He told me that he has 2 accounts overdrawn and that he couldn't even pay his electric bill. I got up and left and told him I would see him in court. I do not have the money for a lawyer and I still do not have the car I purchased in June of 2015. I have made every payment so that it will not go on my credit. For the most part, the loan company has tried to help but they can't release me of my obligation to pay. The entire time I had been complaining to the loan company, they weren't even put down as a lien holder until almost 6 months later. I take complete responsibility for letting this continue for so long and believing someone I trusted to do what he said he would do. I trusted him so much I didn't even test drive the car! Now I have 2 car payments and only 1 car. My car is now on his lot but hasn't been fixed. I do not want this to happen to anyone else. RUN AWAY!
