Austin Zoo

Our mission is to assist animals in need through rescue, rehabilitation and education.

You can sponsor a zoo animal or donate food and other items to the zoo. Ask the staff for more information.

Perfect zoo if you don't want to spend the entire day walking around. Just big enough to see some great sites and not have the kids totally exhausted and cranky when you've seen it all.

This small zoo, some 14 miles southwest of downtown, may not feature the state-of-the-jungle habitats of larger facilities, but it's easy to get up close and personal with the critters here. Enjoy a hill country setting in a family environment. Austin Zoo, a privately owned home, originally started with a small selection of farm animals and has now grown into a wild animal sanctuary and zoo.
