I will NEVER walk foot onto the Mazda of Gladstone dealership lot again nor will I recommend them to anyone! The Mazda GM let an employee buy a car right out from under us!! Who in their right mind provides that kind of service?! Shame on the GM for his management of the situation and shame on the employee for his unethical decision!
Story:
Last night my husband and I walked onto the Toyota of Gladstone lot and asked to see their pre-owned Scion tc's. We had done our research, were pre-approved, and knew exactly what we wanted. The saleswomen from Toyota showed us two cars on their lot but they didn't have the mileage we wanted. She explained there was another Scion over at the Mazda of Gladstone lot whom Toyota shares their inventory with. As we walked up to the front door of Mazda a younger salesman came out and our saleswoman asked him where the Scion was. He paused and said "It might be sold tomorrow so I moved it around back." He walked us around back and we were very pleased with the car: right color, right interior, right mileage, right transmission, right price. As the Mazda salesman walked away he said something along the lines "I was going to buy it tomorrow but it's not sold so it's free game. I guess it wasn't meant to be if it sales. I'm not going to keep it from a customer." Long story short: we test drove it and loved it. We made an offer!
BUT, wouldn't you know, while we were on our test drive the employee of Mazda called his dad and somehow managed to buy the car out from under us. WHAT?! And the Mazda GM let him do that?! Shame on him for taking the commission our saleswoman could have earned and for being such a punk!
