We have a leaky roof and selected AVC Roofing to do the repair work due to the overwhelming positive responses on the web. Skipped through the one star reviews and did not bother to check to make sure this contractor is licensed. Knowing what I know now it is no surprise that our experience is far from positive. Tim and crew did the repair work on Tuesday, 08/16/2010. We were told that the work is guaranteed for two years. It rained the same day. The roof is still leaky. Called numerous times to request addition repair work to fix the problem. Will not return calls. Up until today (08/23/2011) AVC Roofing has not made any attempts to return to fix the problem. By the way I just checked with BBB. The business is not registered with them. Lesson learned. Make sure the contractor you are hiring is licensed using the website listed above. Check the One Star reviews, a few people have the same experience. If you have to hire them, don't pay until you know for sure the problem is fixed.
