I recommend this facility. I have two small mixed boy puppies (rescued) requiring neutering and micro chips. My regular vet only makes house calls and doesnt do surgery. Their vaccinations are complete and have had wellness exams. I shopped around and wanted:1) a hospital/vet that was direct, 2) wouldnt try to up sell me on unnecessary stuff 3) took appointments 4) was reasonably priced and 5) take the City of LA Neuter $30 coupons.Because I grew up on a ranch I also know that neutering a dog is a simple procedure as I assisted either the farm vet or my dad in neutering assorted animals. Prices quoted from $65 to $297 to neuter a 7 lb. dog, 5 mth dog from 10 different hospitals. All but one did not require a pre surgery exam (which I think is necessary). The more expensive inserted catheters (which I dont think is necessary) and prescribed pain medication. I selected Avenue 26 Small Animal Hospital. Gateway Animal Hospital in Los Feliz was #2 in case Dr. Sandin made a joke that didnt make me laugh. I didnt meet Dr. Sandin (but I was prepared for his directness). Dr. Levitt handled things. Professional and sincere. She had two assistants help in the pre surgery exam which I participated in. The front office person was knowledgeable, friendly and caring. Levitt found ear mites performed a cytology and prescribed medication. Suggested lab work, which I declined (and she may not have professionally agreed with my suggestion, but she respected it). She called me after surgery and said everything went well, discussed the ear mites and gave me a time to pick them up. When I arrived the front office person said she had been back playing with them and noticed different personalities between the two and how cute they were (impressed me that everyone is involved). I also had two LA Animal Dept coupons for $30 off neutering. Avenue 26 accepts these (the more expensive hospital do not). Final bill for two puppies with each of the following: Tresaderm, microchip, pre-surgical exam, neuter, ear cytology $258.00. Best value in town
