Located just 20 minutes from downtown in the Forest Hills section of Tampa, "The Babe" meanders through a tree-lined residential neighborhood. The 18 hole, par 70 course measures a modest 6,244 yards, but should not be taken lightly. Although both nines are par-35, the back side features four par-4s in excess of 400 yards, providing a challenge for golfers of all skill levels.

Known in the Tampa Bay area as "The Babe," Babe Zaharias Golf Course was named after Mildred Ella "Babe" Didrikson Zaharias, the female athlete of the 20th Century who owned and manged this historic golf course for 7 years.

Babe Zaharias Golf Course's story begins in 1926 when the course was first opened in northwest Tampa as the Forest Hills Golf and Country Club. The original course had riding stables on the south property and was only surrounded by 10 homes.
