Bally is ok:
People why are you complaining so much? Bally is not perfect but come on. It's a public gym not a private or luxurious gym or a celebrity gym that Michael Jordan owns. The gym is big, very large. It's ventilated so people complaining you guys need help or go check yourself. Yes it's in the basement so what??? Most gyms are in the basement duh?! Why are they in basements well I think because basements are large and the rent will be cheaper. I see a yelper complaining about the music that they was no music. Listen most people don't need and don't listen to the gym's music anymore. We are in 2009 most people have an ipod and if you don't and miss the gym's music get yourself an ipod or just ask the staff to put the music back on. I think you will be the only one listening to it. The pool is ok most gyms don't have one by the way so stop complaining. The gym is not dirty. I see a cleaner on the floor all the time. They clean everything floors, mirrors, bathroom you name it so stop lying or I am just thinking you guys are just annoying neat freaks and again need to get yourself checked with ADHD. Being a neat freak is not ok and is a mental disease. One girl said she got a infection on a machine again being a neat freak is not cool and yes by being to clean it's easier to catch nasty stuffs. Some trainers are better than others, if you join just try to get the best one worth your money. Do a little investigation and ask around and ask people about their personal trainer, likes and dislikes. The tvs have news again most gyms are the same way. They have a women only room but I guess they changed the policy and men can enter the room now. They have 1 week free trials and also 2 weeks and sometimes 1 month many other gyms don't have free trial. The staff some are great and some will give you attitude. The prices are cheaper than Healthworks for women and BSC. They have different classes. It's located in Porter Square very convenient to T and many stores, convenient stores and restaurants. I see some of you complain about other people low price rate. You guys don't get it. Most people with $10 or $9 and even $5 membership have been members for years. When you are a long time member the rate goes down dramatically. If you a first customer you just pay $38 or $40 or more if you get a personal trainer. They also have a cheaper membership but you can only use the gym 3 times a week I think. The machines have no problems they all work fine and are not rusty like some people said. Some of you are also complaing about getting their personal items stolen in locker rooms well buy a cheap lock duh??? It will save you money and a bad review for Bally. They also have a daycare most gyms don't.They don't have towel service so what? You guys are OCD neat freaks anyway. Bring your own towel, some of you guys are real babies. Finally the contract part I think for me was the worst part. I joined I was 18 and they did not tell me anything about a 2 year contract that was dishonest. I also made my friend joined and I took the responsability because she was 17 at the time. She paid me and I was making payment for her. They had no issues in the beginning then all the sudden they started asking me to bring a parent or a legal guardian or a brother for my friend. They were ridiculous. My friend's brother came but with all the drama we just stop going. We wanted to cancel and they gave us a hard time. I told them I had to go out of the country and might not be able to stay and use the gym. They still kept on giving me a hard time. Then they said the only way I could cancel was to get a paper from my doctor saying I was sick or hurt and could no longer use the gym and I think I had to send this letter out of state. I just quit and could not and was so angry. I just did not want to go through all this nonsense. I understand that they are trying to get more customers and raises etc.. But it's not ok to be dishonest and push people into crazy contracts. I was 18 a tennager I think it's terrible that they took advantage of me that way.

This budget gym trims the fat off its patrons at streamlined facilities.:
The SceneMost Ballys stick to the basics for their design. Televisions broadcast silently above multiple rows of cardio machines; mirrored walls act as the primary decorative components. But thanks to high-energy television ads and low-impact membership premiums, this national fitness chain has steadily attracted a clientele bent on saving money while losing weight or gaining muscle.The...
