Rude and Disrespectful:
I was given a $100 dollar gift card at my baby shower soon before my baby was born in April from my family. They wanted me to be able to enjoy a relaxing day either before my baby was born or soon after so that I could recover. It was a very sweet gesture and this spa was close to my home so that it would be easy to get to. However; after reviewing their services and frequenting their store, I could not find anything to use the gift card on. A family member came to visit New Orleans and she enjoyed spa services, so I scheduled an appointment for her and I to receive pedicures at the same time. The day of the appointment, a random staff member called my phone and left rushed messages. When I finally called back after being up all night with my baby and getting interrupted sleep from the frequent calls, I was informed that their nail technician had called in sick and that instead of calling in another employee, they were calling to reschedule my appointment. They wanted me to come in to their store 20 minutes after I got off the phone with them. It was impossible for me to do so as a new mother with a breastfed baby and a family member staying on the other side of town relying on me for her ride. Also, the experience I was expecting was to enjoy a relaxing environment in which to be pampered. Shane hung up on me after huffing into the phone that he would try to find a time later in the day for me to get my pedicure. I had to call back to tell him to go ahead and cancel those appointments, because the service I was expecting was now completely off the table. At the time of my call the manager was "out" and I requested that they refund my gift card, because my cousin was leaving New Orleans the next day and I am now moving out of New Orleans for professional reasons. I told the employee that I would come in around my originally scheduled time and would like to speak to the manager. He told me that she would be able to refund the card. As I walked into their building. I tried to introduce myself and the manager cut me off mid-sentence, to explain to me that she would do nothing for me. They kept telling me that the gift card wouldn't expire, so that I could come back to New Orleans after I move and use it. This is not something that is possible for me. She yelled at me as I was almost in tears leaving the building. I have never been treated this way as a customer anywhere. This is the absolute worst experience I have ever have. In my eyes, the Belladonna Day Spa business is a criminal. They stole money from potential clients and treated them inhumanely with disrespect. I would not recommend them to anyone. My "Spa" experience was completely ruined and replaced with rudeness and tears. I cannot believe that I was treated this way and also plan on reporting this establishment to the Better Business Bureau. Be honest about your service hear, because I would hope that they never get an opportunity to hurt someone like they have hurt me again.
