Just thought you should know. I have been coming to the lake since I was 14. I am 50 now once every week every summer and we live in the Phildadelphia suburbs so it can be a hike at times. Memorial Day to my family means Bellmawr's open. We have started our friends and family to come as well. At times during our visits we have dealt with someone taking the kids toys or some other "minor can happen anywhere" type thing but this season has not started off so great. We have had a pot smoking clan near us last week and then yesterday was the worst. I was there with four children in our usual spot at the end by the volleyball net. A huge group were next to us and two of the smaller children, who were in the water completely unattended, were following my 13 yr old daughter and her friend wanting to play, squirting water guns at them. My daughter and her friend were nicely trying to tell them to stop, they even swam over to the bar area but they would not let up. Then this little girl threw something hard directly at my daughters eye. It was swollen, red and cut with black and blue starting. I went to the mother and told her what happened (first know..I do not fight I dont believe in it) she actually said "SO" so I just went back to my spot. About a half an hour later she came over to us and began screaming that my daughter tried to drown her daughter and saying "F" word all over and very loud. Her friends then came over as well. She would not stop screaming. I wanted to report her behavior but the closest personnel was on the other side and I did not want to leave my kids nor my stuff. My children would not move from our table the rest of our time there. They now are so upset they dont want to come back even though I explained that this one person does not mean all are like that. I just feel that sometimes the people coming there with their behavior are ruining your reputation. Many people tell me I am crazy for coming because of caliber of people that attend. Maybe, I think, if the lifeguards or other personel can be spread around or someone came around often it would prevent this kind of bullying knowing they may be in trouble. I really love your lake and want to keep coming but I feel its your responsibility to ensure your patrons are safe. Hopefully you can keep your good families still coming and the rifraf out. By the way I took my daughter to the hosptial and she has a slight tear on her eyeball as well as a hematoma with a swollen black eye. She is a good, timid girl who is still shocked by the reaction or lack of from this woman.
