Blaine Gilbert was the worst:
When trying to get my wife back into the States after living abroad, I thought I had encountered the worst part... unfortunately I ended up settling for Blaine b/c of cost and I paid dearly for that mistake.
Gilbert Blaine's office is in the basement of a building next to a Subway deli. He was one of the few that would consult with me on the phone before talking about charges. After going, I can see why... Of course Blaine offers a phone interview and consultation! If you saw his office you wouldn't think twice about his office and you would go to another lawyer!
In short, I thoroughly researched the steps for my wife's immigration. I compiled the paperwork, photos, documents, notaries, statements, affidavits, tax info, employment, etc etc etc. I considered going through it without a lawyer but was swayed because of mixed messages from other immigration helplines. I didn't want to risk it without representation. For $1500 Blaine talked to me 3-4 times, had me deliver documents a good 5-8 times, berated me for asking questions, he lacked answers to my specific questions on Police records which I had to find for myself, and at one point told me literally, "I don't have time for this bullsh-t!" and hung up the phone.
$1500!!! $1500!!! And I get told he doesn't have time to answer a question that he simply won't do through email. A technological nincompoop!!! The man barely has a computer and types his messages in ALL CAPS. How f---king irritating is that? IT'S LIKE HE'S SHOUTING AT ME ALL THE TIME. hE EVEN USES LOWER LETTERS. tHIS SHOWS ME THAT HE DOES KNOW WHAT A SHIFT KEY IS. He just refuses to use the keyboard like a normal human being.
Blaine is a sleazy, basement lawyer, that will grease you up with words of comfort until the check is cleared. You lose a loved one to bureaucracy and then you end up with this evil man that only wants your money. He was a boob and a jerk starting immediately after the initial filing was complete. For nearly 1year I had to deal with this insufferable putz and his lousy, archaic, and incompetent office. Do not trust this man with your loved ones futures. Try Vine and Assoc. in Rockville. Also, there's a free Immigration help office in the Bank of America Plaza at the corner of Charles and Pratt. If it weren't for my own knowledge and research I would have never had my wife back in the United States.
Oh yeah.... his coffee sucked too.
