When to Go: On Wednesday nights, starting at 10pm, the go-go dancers from Swinging Richard's perform at Blake's. The Sunday evening drag shows are the stuff of legend and draw a gaggle of guys to cap the weekend.

Blake's has been around forever, and I've never had a bad time there. Great mix of people and friendly staff. Whenever friends visit from out-of-town, I always take them to Blake's for a good time.

Not too far from Piedmont Park in Midtown, you'll find this landmark: a friendly, mostly gay bar that's popular with locals. A few doors away on Monroe Drive is Outwrite Bookstore & Coffeehouse, another pleasant gay and lesbian hangout.

Blake’s on the Park opened in 1988 at the corner of 10th and Peachtree and moved to its current location, 227 10th Street, in 1990. It has been Midtown’s favorite neighborhood bar ever since.
