Always helpful and have a good attitude.:
My HSA is through there, and they are always happy to see me and are quite competent to help with complex transactions.
"I just wanted to exchange some currency.." Yeah they don't do that for non-account-holders, they also don't cash personal checks, or make change or a dozen other things. You do that at a bank in which you hold an account. "They were snotty" - were you listening to what they told you? Apparently not.

Avoid this place. The tellers are extremely rude, condescending, and insulting. I went there to exchange $200 dollars for Norwegian kroner, not to be verbally abused. I was asked by the teller if I had an account with the bank. I told the teller that I did not have an account with them. The teller started giving me attitude. She told me she couldn't exchange any currency unless I had an account with the bank. She further went on to tell me that she'd have one of the bankers open an account for me. I told her that I didn't want to open any account and that I just wanted to exchange some currency. Then, she started talking to me slowly in a condescending tone "How can I make this any clearer to you, Sir, I can't exchange any currency unless you have an account with this bank." A male teller standing next to her exclaimed in a shrilly voice, "are you retarded." After that rude comment, I had just simply walked out of that bank.
Please, whatever your needs are, do NOT go to M&I for any kind of banking needs. If you do go there, be prepared for rude, snotty tellers.
