Body 4 Life Fitness

I am active duty military and I had a membership at Body 4 Life fitness in Calera, AL for about 8 months. I notified them of an upcoming deployment to the Middle East and they told me I would have to pay the next month's membership fees because I didn't give them a 30 day notice. I said that would be fine. Now the problem is they never stopped charging me membership fees the entire time I'm in the Middle East. It's not easy to contact the States but I called and spoke with a receptionist and explained the situation. I also emailed my complaint to their email box. After two weeks and sending multiple emails I finally heard back. After even more emails it was finally settled that they were going to send my wife a check addressed to her so we can be reimbursed. Three weeks later, my wife receives a check for $39. They charged me for March, April, and May. That would be more than $100 in reimbursement. I sent another email asking for the rest of the money that's owed, and receive a reply stating that I am only getting one month's reimbursement basically because someone lost my original written cancellation back in January. Also, I do not even know the name of anyone who has email me back because they are too scared to give it. I've never dealt more incompetent people in my life. Do not waste your time or money at this gym. There are more gyms in the area that won't screw you over like these idiots.
