Fun Diversion:
The Boiling Pot is a shabu shabu Japanese restaurant next to the Borders/Macy's mall at Lake & Del Mar in Pasadena. It's fun for a small lunch or dinner (you can't really move tables together because of the burners for the pots in the tables). The food is healthy, tasty and very affordable ($ 25 for two people). Parking is easy (mall or street) and it's close to most things in the professional (not Oldtown) building and residential area of downtown Pasadena.
