Gigolos hanging out to catch Beverly Hills housewives; an occasional celebrity; jamon serrano but no oscar meyer - this is an over the top grocery store. They specialize in gourmet foods and wines. Their butcher and fish departments are quite good and their charcuterie is among the best around. For cheese, I prefer Whole Foods.

Yes, this is the supermarket of the stars--and a bunch of Beverly Hills wannabees, housewives, actors and the generally rich. The selection of food is really good but the prices are not. Sure, you can get a Christmas pudding, caviar, cheese from Europe and a wide array of tasty gourmet food, but the produce costs a lot more than at Vons. It's built into the old Chasen's restaurant so it is small by comparison to other grocery stores. Still, the staff is nice and helpful.
