If you are a proponent of fair employment practices, do not support this restaurant!:
This restaurant may have been great at one point, but the new management has been shown to be corrupt. My roommate got a job there recently as a chef and was an excellent and very fast employee according to all of his fellow staff.

Unfortunately, after about two weeks of working there, he got FOOD POISONING at the restaurant while at work by food someone else made and he was throwing up for hours and told to take the weekend off. Monday morning he received a TEXT saying he was FIRED and that they were looking for "experienced, fast" employees. However, all of the staff know it was because he got food poisoning which is dangerous for the restaurant. This thoroughly unjust kind of business practice can not be supported! Now my roommate is righteously out of a job and faces the possibility of eviction, and this guy didn't even have the decency to do it to his face or over the phone. Unacceptable.

"Meditate" on the "love" generated by this "trendy" Pan-Asian duo on Beverly Boulevard and in Santa Monica, which provides "nourishing", "satisfying" eats, plus soju and sake cocktails, in a casual environment that's "full of energy"; "courteous" service and "reasonable prices" are welcome, and while bellyachers carp about "noise" and a "lack of authenticity", overall it "hits the mark."

THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Buddha's Belly Restaurant Review:
We like the décor and selection of table top items, which seem almost too nice for a neighborhood joint. But a neighborhood joint this definitely is, as is evidenced by the casual demeanor of the servers, who feel more like your neighbors dropping by your table for a chat than hired help. The prices are reasonable, given the generous size of the main dishes. For starters, the chilled Vietnamese...

Hip and casual dining spot for fresh, affordable Pan-Asian fare.:
The Scene
This sun-drenched, airy dining room is welcoming and bright. Funky, oversized paper lanterns and a giant Buddha statue add liveliness to the simple space. Outside, lush bamboo...

Information from the business

After working four years in Southeast Asia and the Far East, Jonathan Chu returned to his hometown of Los Angeles looking for the authentic tastes of Asia he enjoyed throughout his travels. Chu envisioned a unique restaurant that would provide an eclectic selection of his favorite Pan-Asian foods at an affordable price that would woo both fans of Asian cuisine and the uninitiated alike. With...
