At Buena Vista Elementary - a public Montessori school in Colorado Springs School District 11, we want to help your child learn in an environment that encourages each child to reach his or her full potential. A child's mind will never again be as absorbent as it is from birth to age six. Our classrooms are designed to spark the interest of students and encourage them to explore on their own. As children strive to reach their potential, they develop attitudes and confidence that will serve them throughout their lives. Our goal is to see a happy, secure child who is strong in body, mind, and spirit. To children, there is something very interesting and special in doing what adults find ordinary. Practical life exercises like sorting, pouring, washing dishes or polishing shoes absorbs them completely. We recognize this as the beginning of control and coordination of mind and body.
