This 19th-century inn with crisp white linens and old brick fireplaces serves French and Cajun dishes to a well-dressed crowd. Among the specialties are Gulf fish Acadien and grilled duck breast. This is a favorite spot for special occasions among Lafayette residents.
Though it's highly touted locally, and set in a beautifully restored 1799 Acadian cypress house, we find this place a bit disappointing. The fussy food layers on the ingredients, many of which are cream-sauce intensive. Having said that, the crawfish beignets are a perfect appetizer. Service can be inexplicably slow.
