Their Heritage Forest HOA towed my car while I was deployed overseas. Cost me $1,185 to get it back!:
While deployed in the Middle East my car registration expired. When I returned home my vehicle was missing. I was informed that Capitol Property Management’s Heritage Forest HOA had my car towed by Battlefield towing. Neither the HOA nor the towing company bothered to inform me. I guess it was too much trouble to send a text, make a phone call, send an email, or send a letter to me or to my landlord. But then why would they inform me since they were charging me $50 a day for each day the car was in their possession without my knowledge. I had to pay $1,185 to get my car back! I made an appeal at the HOA’s Board meeting but it was denied. When I appealed to Capitol Property Management they told me that they would consult with their HOA but that responding to my appeal was their HOA’s decision. Being deployed on short notice and for an indefinite period of time is difficult enough without the added complications of returning home to find your vehicle gone and a huge bill waiting for you.
