Out of an "unassuming little yellow cottage", this Venice "gem" (with a larger outpost in Marina del Rey) delivers "luscious" Italian fare to a "trendy" clientele; though "crowded" tables are a drawback, the candlelit setting is otherwise "romantic" and the "charming" staff "greets you like friends", so it's a "special" (and "expensive") "treat."
Casa Ado Restaurant Review:
Co-owners Paolo Cesaro and chef Antonio Mure have followed up Ado, their Italian hot-spot in Venice, with Casa Ado in Marina del Rey. Located near the hustle and bustle of the Venice Pier, this simple bistro offers seating in the low-lit dining room, a handful of chairs at the bar, and a few al fresco tables along busy Washington Boulevard. As at sister restaurant Ado, the cuisine is Italian,...
This laid-back version of Paolo Cesaro's Venice hit eatery, Ado, dishes out the same kind of authentic Italian dishes Cesaro is known for, but here there's a full bar and a distinct living room-like setting. Look for handmade pastas, housemade ricotta cheese, and a range of cocktails as effervescent as the charming waitstaff.
