Since 1999, Chronicle Wine Cellar has been providing Wine from Pasadena.

Know Before You Go: In the driveway, next to Pie n' Burger, you'll see a small flag waving if the shop is open. Walk down that drive to find the shop.

When to Go: In-house sommelier Elizabeth Schweitzer holds tastings once a month, but there's always something open for shopper's to sample.

It's hard to find (in the parking lot behind Pie 'n' Burger), and the place is tiny, but there's a lot of low prices, nice folks, and the odd older bottle left over from the cellar of the legendary Chronicle Restaurant, which was sold to the owner of Pie 'n' Burger when they closed about ten years ago. They seem to do particularly well with pinot noirs, small producer red Rhones and white Burgundies and Central California stuff.
