Lobster rolls are big in New York. Every neighborhood seems to have a new lobster joint, with Chelsea’s being Claw on 23rd Street. The star of their menu is, of course, their lobster roll—full of chopped, lightly dressed claw meat—is served warm on a toasted potato bun. If you prefer a more Maine-style roll, you might want to try out the creamy lobster mac and cheese which is topped with brioche crumbs.
This spot is a little far from the beach but dishes up barefoot-style fare like lobster rolls, lobster mac and cheese, crab beignets and lobster quesadillas. — Florence Fabricant
