Worst Experience Ever:
This was my first time to 609 Harwood. My first impression was GR EAT! I own a restaurant/bar in downtown Dallas and was happy to come across another place that I could patronize as well as recommend to my customers in the area.
The problem happened when a member of my party was not satisfied with the steak that she ordered. We went on a special event night where the menu was limited to four items: Burger, Ribs, Steak or Wings. The problem did not lie with having the steak removed from the bill (my friend was willing to pay and tip on the steak) she only wanted to speak with a member of management to voice her concerns. The manager refused to come to the table. My friend made her way tot he manager to voice her concerns. Her concerns were heard; but upon asking for a business card, she was told that no cards were available. She asked if the person could write her name down on a napkin. She was told that she would write it down and the waitress would bring it over. When my friend asked the waitress for the paper with the name on it, she indicated that she was instructed to give the paper at the end to the whom ever paid the tab.
At this point is were I interceded! Being a business owner I was perplexed as to why the bill had to be paid before we could get a name. I approached the same women. Gave her my name, business I owned and my business card and was informed the same thing. She did not have a business card and the waitress would give me her information after the bill was paid!
I paid the bill got the hand written information and left. After speaking to employees and others in community, I learned that the lady I was interacting with was the OWNER of the place. BIG disappointment! I will never go back! I will never have a positive/good word to say about 609 Harwood and every site that I can find, I will be writing a review.
I hope that someone from 609 Harwood reads this review and would please respond to me.
Very disappointed in the lack of the professionalism from the OWNER Diane (and was not a Manager, now that I know your name).
Needless to say our waitress, Jaymillya was wonderful!

Save your money!:
I was very disappointed in the customer service and the poor management in this establishment. A friend planned a dinner party for 10 people 2 weeks in advance. Unbeknownst to her there was a $12 cover charge of each of her guests, the table was only reserved for 8 near the fish tanks. We borrowed 2 women at a nearby table allowed us to borrow 2 of there 4 seats. The "unprofessional pinstripe suit, manager" confronted us for a chair and refused to accept that we had not taken chairs from a vacant table nearby. By this time we had already ordered drinks, and food (which is another complaint). Half of our party had finished their food before the others received theirs. The ceasar salad consisted of "iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, and drenched with Cesar dressing like soup" obviously I returned it to the kitchen. The "carribean chicken, consisted of chicken breast, spaghetti sauce, over white rice, and cabbage." And to top it off they ran out of several sides by 9pm.
It's very unfortunate that we tried to patronize a black establishment, and this was the treatment we received. What customer service handbook or management training course were you taught to confront a customer for a chair? The bus boys later brought the same type of chairs from the store room, and now the business risks loosing repeat business and future customers’ due to overzealous management.
The only thing I did like was the mature crowd, live music, and pretty scenery but I can find that almost anywhere in DFW or in my travels. Needless to say, I will not return nor recommend Harwood 609 to anyone!!
