Comet Camera was outsourced by Cutler Camera to fix my Sony 707. The initial estimate was $155.82. I agreed to the repair and it was to be completed in 6 weeks. The estimate then jumped to $252.28. I asked for an explaination and Cutler said they would get back to me. Over three months later I got a call from Comet Camera stating that they had my camera and it would be $353.58 to get it returned. I argued and demanded an explanation. They told me to call Cutler. I called Cutler and they said they are going out of business so I can do whatever I want it doesnt matter, but if I want my camera back it would be $263 plus shipping. I have to pay shipping because the Harrisburg location that I dropped it off at went out of business. I was supposed to pick it up there and of course not pay shipping charges. Or "I could drive to New Jersey if I didnt want to pay the shipping". "We are doing you a favor." is what they told me. Comet Camera still has my camera and refuses to give it back unless I pay the extorted amount.
