Description

A charming and romantic restaurant located in a 19th century barn. The soaring hand hewn rafters of the timbered interior are lit by crystal chandeliers, soft candlelight, and a huge open hearth manor fireplace in season; and the strains of classical Baroque music or mellow jazz float in the air. Serves classic European cuisine and offers an exceptional wine list.

This restaurant is in a big 1800s barn with hand-hewn rafters and crystal chandeliers hanging from the beams. That's the Common Man for you: fancy and après-ski all at once. Over 150 years old, the soaring hand hewn rafters of the timbered interior are lit by crystal chandeliers, soft candlelight, and a huge open hearth manor fireplace in season; and the strains of classical Baroque music or mellow jazz float in the air. It is both rustic and simple, yet elegantly casual and casually elegant, definitely romantic, and is applauded by Vermonters and visitors alike.
