I lost 262 Thousand Dollars and my Family Home.:
April Malloy of Construction of 1st class took 262,000.00., from me for the renovation for a wheelchair accessible home. All I have is a foundation, some stud walls, no roof, and a tarp partially covering the house.
The money was my dads life savings..he scrimped and saved. He was in the navy, then worked fixing cash registers for NCR. He walked all over Manhattan so he could save money. At age 90, he was in a nursing home during the renovation. He passed at week 15 of a 22 week rebuild and were at week 37.

I wanted a woman contractor. April talked about getting women off welfare and to work. Hiring ppl returning to work after prison, and teaching people a skill.
There was even a "metro" a newspaper article about April Malloy and she said she was on one of the morning shows. She had a tv promo and she was in contract negations with We TV.

She possessed a General Contractors license and obtained a HIC for my job. I checked permits, social media, buildings Dept. , (including fines and suspensions), checked pictures of work, and permit history. I was given her home address..
She put in the contract no mechanics liens. We agreed on my wants and keeps list.
Then the problems began;
I mention to April GC permit is expiring the same month we get our build permit (12/8/15). Subsequently, she renews her GC permit the end of August. Her permit expired for my job in February 2016 and as of August 10,2016 she refuses to fixit because the insurance is good.
She intermittently, hired workers. She talks about saving money because her husband is working, John Peacock (Forman) John refuses to leave the job and claims tenancy.
There are additional problems on the jobs site, concrete blow outs, foundation not square, mud and weather conditions. Couldn't get a metal beam for the basement and had to build a foundation wall to support the house. Siding and gutters missing since February. No roof since July 2016. However, the back of the house has been exposed since about April 2016 to the elements. She also refused to fix the water coming into the basement ...all these months.
In addition, I fired April on 8/10/16, for refusing to fix her permit for the house with the building Dept. (She was informed by me for several days and she refused to stop working .) She tried too force me to accept an unLisenced Electrician as well as being charged for basement wiring replaced due to hurricane Sandy in 2015.

We tried talking on 8/16/16, whereby she wanted me to talk with her lawyer who never called. During our conversation that day she told me she used 167,000.00 in materials and the rest labor. She has only produced one change order. No other finical documentation. She wanted another contract for the job and an additional 300,000.00 for the work that needed to be preformed. I refused the new contract and additional monies.

SO many men are upset over a women in construction:
She fires them and then they write lies on her how sad. This women here recently gave 6000 to a employee who she had trusted to pay the workers he stole the money and ran that women single mom of seven gave her last dime to help us. How awful some one would do this to us and to her. she now cant even feed her kids she gave us what she had. she told me dont worry god will help us. I felt so bad for her and her kids she went to her church and they gave her bags of food she kept saying see I will be ok . I dont think I have ever met any one like her. Mat hat goes off to her. she has my respect for sure.

Great Company:
I have been with Construction 1st Class for about 3 years. I have seen this company grow and wouldn't want to work for a different one. She ALWAYS pays her workers and her company is honest so is her work! Anyone is says different just didn't do their job correct and got fired because she doesn't put up with mess on her job sites
