Run Away!:
So I have a dentist that I trust very much. Unfortunately, he has been helping in another office over 3 hours away most days of the week. So, when I wanted to use up my benefits, I decided to go to Convenient Family Dentistry. It was the biggest mistake of my life. They did a cleaning and told me I needed a lot of work done. I was aware of most of the issues. However, the care plan seemed excessive. I confronted Dr. Meyers and told him I did not feel he was being completely honest with me. He became defensive of course. Dr. Meyers told me I had no time to waste or I would lose many of my teeth. I had no pain at this point. I was told I needed several cavities (6+), 2 extractions, a crown, and possibly 3 root canals if he could even save the teeth. This just seemed a bit aggressive. I decided to go ahead with one of the extractions because I knew it was definitely needed. I also had them fill the small cavities. When I went back to consult on the root canals, he told me he could not save the teeth. They needed to be extracted immediately (I had already had 1 extraction so this would be losing 4 teeth total). He also reiterated that I need a crown on a 5th tooth. He began talking about bone grafts and a partial. I was concerned losing 3 more teeth! And the cost was approaching $12,000. He referred me to Dr. Goldberg. 3 different office members told me Dr. Goldberg should have no issue extracting the teeth based on the x-rays. He refused. I am thankful. Perhaps he was being honest in knowing they did not need extracted or possibly I was tagged as a difficult customer. Either way, I thank him for refusing!

I visited my dentist for a second opinion. I requested my x-rays be sent to my dentist. Convenient Family Dentistry only sent the panoramic x-ray. They had several x-rays of the individual teeth that they did not send. Hmmm? Trying to hide them? My dentist was baffled when he did the exam. He said there was absolutely no reason to extract any more teeth at this point. So there were 4 teeth total in question at this point. He disagreed that one tooth needed a crown at all. He said it needed nothing (no cavity, decay or infection). The other two teeth needed root canals but definitely did not need to be extracted. He even said the root canals could wait a little while if needed. He said he could also crown the 3rd tooth that Dr. Meyers wanted to extract. This is a huge difference in treatment approach and cost.

I was irate but I waited to make sure my dentist could repair my teeth before writing the review. Sure enough, he had no issue. His treatment plan was a fraction of the cost. I will not dispute that my teeth needed some work. However, they did not need to be removed. He completely made up the need for one of the teeth to be crowned. And I wonder if I really did have all of those small cavities?

I have told my story to many people. I implore you to find another dentist. This company is only out for greed and money. They do not care about your smile or your pocketbook. It is a scam.
