Please share- My son is not perfect. He makes mistakes. However, we have brought him up to help those around him and his community. Recently, our washer and dryer died, forcing us to the Creve Coeur laundromat. While there, he struck up conversations with the fellow customers, polite chit chat to pass the time. He noticed that one gentleman was having trouble with a certain washer. The man called the management and let them know of the issue and then switched washers. A while later, management showed up and was looking at another washer issue when the gentleman alerted him to the issue he had experienced, My son, trying to be the helpful boy scout, tried to explain the steps the gentleman had taken. The man from management then asked if they were together. I, off to the side, replied “No, he is mine.” He then rudely tells my son to “stay out of it”, that he is a child and that this is something a “grown up” needs to do. He then goes on a rant about being a naturalized citizen. This episode did not sit well with me. I don’t care if he is a citizen or not. I care about my kid. This kid who has performed countless hours of community service, who works hard to keep our community safe, clean and inviting. My son, who is currently working on his Eagle project, helps those around him and his community. The same community that frequents this laundromat. I will never set foot in this establishment again.
