There was a flurry of excitement about a year ago when word spread that Cassis owner Jef Fike was planning a resurgence of his popular Capitol Hill restaurant after eight years. But then...crickets. Fike says he signed a lease on a 1,700 square-foot gallery space next to Cactus on Alki this past Friday, so it's time to get the word out — again:

Here is a food sketch by Cuoco line cook Herschell Taghap of a dish that is not likely to make it to the Italian menu. But, it shows some serious artistic talent--no? It may makes its way to a pop-up dinner menu.

Cuoco" is the Italian word for "cook," and the inspiration for showing off our chefs in an open kitchen. The pasta work station is framed in crisp white tile and surrounded by warm gold and red walls. In addition to the featured fresh pastas, there are savory vegetables and other hearty entrees, created by our newest chef, Stuart Lane. Several private dining options will be available to...
