One of the particular demands of this reviewer is that the so-called bistros be chef-owned affairs, orchestrated by the same careful hands that shape the menu and the food. Bistro 33 is such a joint, a rather eclectic bistro in Queens with a spectacular fusion of the French and Japanese realms that never disappoints.
