Deer Lake is truly like taking a step back in time. Summers there are like summers from your childhood. Complete with a log cabin clubhouse, camping, picnicking, boating, hiking, swimming, fishing and fun events like movies under the stars, sailing races, and fishing contests, Deer Lake is the perfect place for families to spend their time "unplugged." I personally live in a lake community, but choose to go to Deer Lake instead, because of its unique character.

My family has been a member since before I was born. I am now 24 and I am so glad I was able to spend my summers here. I have three siblings and my mom was able to bring us and set us free to play for the day while she was able to relax and watch us from the shade. The lifeguards are reliable and go above and beyond for the members. The community is very inclusive and the more often you go the more friends you make. I am still friends with the kids I played with as a child and my parents made lifelong friends as well. There is so much to do: barbecuing, swimming, paddle tennis, ping pong, rowboats, canoes, kayaks, sandcastles, hiking, fishing or just relaxing in the sun. There are free swim lessons for kids and lots of activities and competitions throughout the year like races, the big splash competition, fishing contests and outdoor parties. Additionally, teens can get jobs fairly easily since the club likes hiring members. It is a great place for families and people of all ages.

We've been members at DLC for 10-11 years, and have always found it to be a wonderful place for families. The members are friendly - the beach is a place where kids make friends instantly, borrow toys from each other (and return them without trouble at the end of the day), and can swim safely thanks to the terrific staff of lifeguards. We have five children and while we always watch them in the water, we know they're also being watched by a vigilant staff of lifeguards.

In addition to swimming, there's a playground, camping areas, picnic areas with grills, boating, fishing, hiking, disc golf, a wiffle ball field, and a snack bar.

Yes, this is a "members only" place, and as such it is open only to members and their guests. There's a bad review left here by a non-member who was asked to leave - I would caution anyone against taking such a review seriously. Those of us who keep coming back year after year are the ones who know - and love - Deer Lake.

I've been a member of Deer Lake Club for more than 15 years. It is a great family place where my 3 children grew up and loved to go. I enjoy the privacy of this special place that is surrounded by Morris County preservation lands. There is so much that the lake club has to offer year round... swimming, sailing/ boating, great fishing, camping, hiking, bbq, platform tennis, disc golf, baseball field, basketball, bocce ball, volleyball, horseshoes, ice skating, and much more. Many friends made over the years. Highly Recommend Deer Lake Club!
