Deerfield Island Park

The park known as Deerfield island is a 53.3-acre nature-oriented park accessible only by boat. The triangular island can be accessed via shuttle on weekends on the hour from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and departs from the dock at Sullivan Park to the island. The island has one small picnic pavilion for gatherings.

Reached only by boat, this officially designated Urban Wilderness Area showcases coastal hammock island and contains a mangrove swamp that provides a critical habitat for manatees, gopher tortoises, gray foxes, raccoons, and armadillos.
