Called a "to go" for lunch, first problem non-english speaker could not give me location info, found ir easy enough.
Very few diners, yet the somewhat curt hostess was doing everything but ringing me up. When she finally did she had to ask the staff what the price of the rellenos are? 2 waiters and the bartender are looking for it on the menu! If the food is good I'll forgive.
My fajitas were just so-so, rice was way overcooked and not seasoned, just soupy white rice. Refried beans tasted straight out of can. Portion size was decent. Salsa was good-they use cilantro which is essential for me and it was a perfect consistancy-not chunky but not watery.
The chile rellenos were jumbo size and very generous on the cheese. Loved the egg batter. Their flaw was in the cleaning. They had plenty of seeds, but I loverlooked that because they were very good, just a bit overcooked. I'll go back just for those.

Degollado is the best Mexican in all of Hampton Roads. We have tried at least 20 others and this is our favorite. Staff is great and service is fast. Try some of their specialties, perfection!

This is my family's favorite Mexican Restaurant. We've tried many other but feel most at home when we come here. Our favorite is the Chile Relleno. I believe it is just battered in egg(no breadcrumbs), full of cheese and gets straight to the point! The beans are not runny, the enchiladas are great!! The chicken tacos are one of my favorites. A lot of good flavor in the salsa as well!
