Rip off con-men... Good cover ups.:
These guys sell good cover ups… I absolutely do not recommend Desert Autoplex in Tempe/Avondale. They claim to sell certified pre-owned vehicle that go through an 82 point inspection. They also have a misleading bumper to bumper warranty poster on their windows and walls. It looks very appealing but it’s an extra purchase for most. My truck was advertised that it came with it so when I purchased my 2004 Silverado I asked the salesman to write this 90 day 4500 mile warranty on my paperwork. I was told to make a list and contact their Tempe store service dept for my repairs. I took my truck into them 7 times in 2 months. I live 60 miles from them one way plus my chase vehicle. Each time they held my truck from 3 days to a week. They would call me and tell me everything is done come pick it up and they only did a few little things and kept making me come back. I even had to get inspections from 4 different alignment shops to prove that the front end needed major repair.
The truck could not possibly have been certified with the major repairs and concerns involved. Some of the concerns included driveshaft carrier bearing falling apart, broken loose exhaust, front wheel bearings squealing, water pump leaking, hydro brake booster leaking, tie-rod, idle arm and steering stabilizer shock badly worn, headlights inoperable, broken mirror, leaking transfer case, emergency brake inoperable, steering shaft excessive play and clunk, glow plugs inoperable, shock absorbers leaking, shift linkage won’t click into park lock, and much more.
Some of the little repairs were taken care of. They attempted to repair a transfer case leak by smearing sealant on the seems and leaving it dry with no fluid. I ended up taking it to a real transmission shop. The leak was soaking my rear brakes. I also ended up taking it to the dealer for some of the other repairs. That visit cost me $2,700.00 and that’s not even all of it. This truck should have been a lemon just like the dealer I bought from.
They tried to put an extended warranty through two months after my vehicle purchase and the application was denied for the time lapse, known pre-existing conditions and no payment was sent in. They are crooked people not just to you and I but to the people they do business with. I could go on and on but you get the point. They made good cover ups to make the truck look so “mildly used” They spray painted the under body, pressure washed away all and any leak indicators, drained the transfer case fluid so it wouldn’t leak, installed new tires to hide major front end problems, added more anti-freeze with each service visit so I couldn’t monitor the loss.
I have tried several approaches with this company and had no luck. I am a patient person that stands his ground firmly. I never lost my cool with these guys. I am here to tell the world these people do not do ethical business. I mailed them a certified letter and still got a run around that my warranty will kick in soon, says it was a typo. Needless to say I am going the route of legal action, as well as filing a complaint with BBB and the attorney generals office.
