If you EVER consider a job at a dollar general, specifically this one, think again. Do not commit the same error I did. The problem lies mainly with the management, whose superficial appearance with customers is extremely contradictory to its negligent treatment of its employees. Since absolutely no one wants to work at this dump, they are always looking for people to hire but only go for it if you don't have a life: the management doesn't give days off. Not only this, but the manager who works nearly every day (so if you've ever been there you probably know him) gives little to no room for error, regardless of experience, knowledge of the job, or even how much effort was given. This prick (excuse the language; there's no easy way to describe this guy) expects you to do the job exactly the way he expects, which is above and beyond any other store's expectations, making it the worst possible first job for all you kids out there. This guy expects you to be flexible, and expects you to do more work that what you expect (specifically, taking extra shifts at least once a week) but it doesn't stop there. Say that something unexpected happens, like your grandma is in the hospital or an unforseen circumstance forces you to quit. He's had shouting matches, both on the phone and in person while on the job, at people with such circumstances. In short, if you want to get a job or even consider giving this dump your business, think again and go down the road to Giant. This place was far classier and nicer as a whole when it was Myers Market like when I was a kid and the terrible management turns this place into a small torture house. I implore you, dear reader, to never visit this place, ever, unless you want to lose a piece of yourself.
