For more than 50 years, Dorrian's has been one weird spot. Opened in the days when the Upper East Side-adjacent Yorkville was a scrappy little neighborhood, it has been a place to see Yankees grabbing a drink, serial killers grabbing victims, and Ivy Leaguers home for vacation.
The most "neighborly" haunt on the UES. If you make this your 2 a.m. stumble in, be warned: it's teeming with JCrew clad, Sperry footed coeds gyrating to America's Top 40. But don't let that stop you from poking in come sunup for classic American cookery and a chummy waitstaff serving you indelibly juicy burgers on red and white checkered tables. The Ragin' Cajun is worth the wait.
