Tips

With its raucous fiesta of clubby beats and fruity drinks, this Tex-Mex joint is par for the Hubbard Street course. The scarlet and copper hues and flickering lanterns do, however, deliver a distinguishing dose of loungey sophistication. Come nightfall, tourists, leftover nine-to-fivers and pre-partiers fill cushy booths and dark wooden tables, nibbling bottomless chips and warm salsa while perusing a menu of familiar cuisine with occasional unexpected twists such as the Mexican saganaki--a skillet full of tangy panela cheese doused in Mexican brandy and set ablaze tableside.
