Took car in that had coolant light coming on sporadically. Told them I didn't think the radiator fans were kicking in and to please check the car and let me know what all was wrong with it including doing a computer check. I was told that it had an exhaust manifold gasket that needed replacing and by doing this it should make the fans work again. The price quoted was 689.00. I told them to go ahead. Two days later I called to see if it was ready and was told it was. I asked if the fans were working. The man named Dave didn't know and said he would check. The mechanic then got on the phone and said he had good news and bad. Good news was, the car was running. (it was running when I took it in too!) Bad news was the fans were weak so have to keep the a/c turned on, even though it doesn't work, in order to keeps the fans running. But the bad news is that I also have a blown head gasket! The repair will run about 1500. That is as long as the heads aren't warped. Then it goes up to about 2500. Why didn't they find this in the beginning when I asked them to check? If they had I certainly wouldn't have done the first repair at all! I feel that they knew that and chose not to say anything until after they did the first repair. I feel like I was lied to. The last time I was there with another vehicle I got jerked around and ended up paying more than was quoted but thought it might be an honest mistake. But twice in a row? Take your business elsewhere!!
