Description

Glen Gejerman, M.D., has spearheaded the development of The Cancer Center's Radiation Oncology Department, bringing novel techniques and technologies to patients as they emerge. Unlike many other radiation oncology programs, Dr. Gejerman's department offers patients access to every treatment option available, including the new TomoTherapyTM system. This treatment system innovatively integrates all three steps of radiation therapy -- treatment planning, patient positioning, and treatment delivery - and it provides the safety of a pre-therapy CT scan to check the position of the tumor before every treatment is delivered. The Cancer Center is one of only three facilities in New Jersey where TomoTherapyTM is available and one of a few in the United States to dedicate its TomoTherapyTM system to the treatment of prostate cancer. Dr. Gejerman is invited to speak at conferences all over the world about his expertise in brachytherapy and intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT). Attending Physician: Assistant Professor of Radiation Oncology, Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Bronx, New York Medical Education: UMDNJ-New Jersey Medical School, Newark, New Jersey Internships: Long Island Jewish Medical Center, New Hyde Park, New York; Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Bronx, New York Radiation Oncology Residency: Montefiore Medical Center and Weiler Hospital, Bronx, New York; Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
