Appalled and disgusted:
I am APPALLED AND DISGUSTED at the way that I was treated today at your store in Ramsey. A few weeks ago, I made a purchase in your Clifton store and bought 3 pairs of the same pants in a different color. Since there was just a difference in color, I did not try on all 3 of them at the time of my purchase. I wore 2 of the pants and the day I decided to wear the 3rd pair, I put them on to find out the fit was not the same. I took the pants off at that moment and decided that I was either going to exchange or return them. What I assumed would be an easy not hassle return was not only long and tedius and showed customer service issues with your team but also some clear opportunities for training on register procedures and proper ettiquette.
I walked to the register with my receipt, the price tag which I had removed, and the pair of pants. I explained to the cashier why the tag was off and she told me that the pants looked worn. They were not wrinkled but the material was shiny in a few areas as if an iron that was too warm had been placed on the material. I assured her that I would never return something that I had already worn and shared with her that, that would be mortifying to me. The cashier was taking her time and making faces and I told her that if there was a problem I was willing to get the exact same pair of pants and would most likely be buying additional items. When I returned to the register with my items there was a bit of a line and the second lady at the registers started to help me. Even though she had the receipt and the tag, she was having issues processing it, in the interim the first lady who was implying that I had worn the item proceeded to interrupt and shared not once but 7 times to her coworker and the line that had formed that the item was being damaged out because it was not resellable. 7 times she repeated this so now she was being petty, clearly trying to embarass me, and crossed the line. Still through all this I kept my mouth shut to avoid an unpleasant scene due to the TERRIBLE service I was receiving. That is until she stopped again and told me in the future not to remove tags. I then spoke up an reminded her that the only reason I ever removed the tag to begin with was because I had also purchased and worn 2 of the exact pair in a different color. She was rude and unncessarry. At one point she began talking about the censor remover that they share so I cannot say why she was saying what she was saying, but I can tell you how she made me feel in front of a line of people....LIKE A CRIMINAL. except I had a $385.00 ++ receipt for my purchase, the tag, and the item. I also felt there may have been some discrimination taking place since the majority of the population in the area is Caucasian and I am clearly ethnic. I wish this attrocity ended here but it didnt. Now the cashier that was ringing me up had processed the return for the pants and issued me a merchandise credit. She began a new transaction to process my new purchases and once she told me my total, I first gave her the merchandise credit that she had just given me and then handed her a $15 coupon which I had earned for my purchases. She now stops and in a loud tone and like her colleague announces to the line that I should have given her the coupon first and now she had to void everything and start over. My response to her was "I dont know what your rules and procedures are here but had you been listening to me earlier, I did mention I had a $15 coupon so you SHOULD have known.
She now had to call a manager and continue to waste more of my time which was limited since I was on a lunch break from work and now running late to a pending meeting. I told her I had been very patient but now having been at the register over 20 minutes my patients was wearing thin and it seemed like she and her register could not agree with one another I would need someone else to help me.
Somehow she managed through completing my new purchase but now after imposing on my with the 25 minutes it took to ring me up for 2 items, she was giving me dirty looks as I folded up my receipt and placed my debit card away. To say that my blood was boiling, that I had been humiliated, that I am now running late to my meeting and could not even complete my original plans to grab some take out, I'm the one who said thank you before walking away.

I am enraged and looking forward to hearing back from someone as to what steps are going to be taken so that someone is not treated as nasty as I was and made to feel belittled and humiliated when not only they have their receipt, price tags and items.
